The forest lies there, green and fragrant. As you walk up the heavy slopes, you soak up all the impressions; the bird life, the small rivers that rush off the slopes, people who enjoy walking. All together good sounds that stick in the soul and give wonderful memories. On the way up you pass beautiful streams, Varmosletta is there with benches and a stage, and maybe you feel extra excited to drink water from the spring midway down the hill. Tjuvtrappa. The place got its name because a woman stole a cow at Loftfjellgården and dragged it up the mountainside to the top, and she took the cow further down towards Selfors. The place called Tjuvtrappa has no stairs; there has never been one either, but perhaps it is called Tjuvtrappa because the terrain is in steps up from Loftfjellgården. Many families have lived there over the years, but in 1873 the great-grandfather of the current owner, Arne Loftfjell, took over the place. But Arne can tell that the area has been inhabited much longer than that. We take you on a guided hike to one of the highest points in Mo I Rana to have a view of the city and its surroundings. It is a hike that takes you up an old path, to a viewpoint known as the top of the “Tjuvtrappa”. When we go up to around 400 m. we will tell you the story of this point and the surroundings. When we get to the top of the “roof” of Mo I Rana, you will get a fantastic view of the city. The trip takes approximately 2.5 hours both ways, and we can either pick you up at your hotel, or we can meet you at the starting point. Maps will be available to you at your hotel. We make coffee on the fire, and you can have lunch up there too. Including: Map, Guide, Bonfire (if it’s not too dry). NOTE! This experience is NOT carried out with less than 3 participants! BUT, if you want, you can pay for 3 and be less!
