In order to fully enjoy the riverboat Berlin experience, we recommend hiring a boat for a minimum of 2 hours.



Do I have to book in advance?

It may be possible to secure a boat without having booked in advance. However, this is not guaranteed, and it depends on the levels of demand on a particular day. It is always recommended to try and book a boat online before arriving.

How do I cancel my boat(s)?

You can cancel (and receive a full refund) or rearrange your boat booking up to 48 hours in advance of your booking sail out time by calling or e-mailing our team. Please see the ‘Contact’ page for contact details. Unfortunately, we cannot rearrange bookings, or give refunds for cancellations requests that are received within 48 hours of your sail out time.

What time should I arrive?

It is important that you arrive 15 minutes before departure. This is to ensure that there is time for you to check in and receive instructions on safety, how to control the boat and route directions for your adventure!

If you are fully booked, is there a waiting list?

No, unfortunately not. Be sure to book in advance via the website or our app (soon to be released!)

How do I book a boat?

You can book a boat through this website. We require a credit/debit card to book a boat.

Can I receive a discount if I rent multiple boats?

Our mission is to ‘make the canals accessible to everyone’ and we think we have priced our boats accordingly to ensure that as many people as possible can afford an adventure on the canals. This means that no further discounts are available.

We are located around the Oberbaumbrücke Friedrichshain area (South-East Berlin)


How many people can fit in a boat?

Our boats have a capacity of 8-21 people.

Are lifejackets included in the price?

Yes, lifejackets are included in the price. Lifejackets for adults located in the storage compartment of the boat. We advise adults to wear lifejackets, although it is optional. Children must wear lifejackets at all times.

Do you have life jackets for children and babies?

Yes, we have lifejackets specific for children and babies.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes, you can bring your own food and drinks. We have a limit on the amount of alcohol which can be brought as outlined below.

Can someone captain the boat for us?

It is certainly possible, but please enquire in advance.

Are there different sizes of boats?

We have only one type of boat, with room for 8 people.

Can you I bring my dog on the boat?

Yes, you can. However, we have no life vests for dogs so dogs are brought onto the boat at your own risk.

Can I drop off the boat somewhere else?

No. The boat must always be brought back to the place it was originally taken from.

How do the boats work?

The boats are powered by an electric motor connected to a battery. The boats sail around 3 knots (4 mph).

Do I require a boating experience to rent a boat?

Not necessarily. Most of the boats are easy to control. The only requirement is that any captains of the boat are 18 years old and remain sober throughout the experience. You will receive a full boat handover from an experienced member of staff before you set off to ensure you have all the information and skills necessary to enjoy the experience safely.

Can I drink alcoholic beverages onboard?

Anyone who steers the boat (the captain) must remain sober during the experience. Guests who do not steer the boat may consume a limited amount of alcohol. We have limits on the amount of alcohol allowed on our boats, these are: Either two bottles/cans of standard strength beer or lager per person per hire period, or one 750 ml bottle of wine/prosecco between every two people, or one bottle of Pimm’s with suitable mixers per boat, no straight spirits allowed. The stated limits on alcohol do not change dependent on the hire period.

How old do I have to be in order to sail the boat?

The captain who controls the boat must be over 18 years old.
