Black Sand Beach ATV Express / 1 Hour

Drive through the coastline, small rivers and through the black volcanic sand beach. You will have a chance to stop by the deserted US Navy plane. As history suggests, the plane ran out of fuel in 1973 and crashed on the black sand beach. This is a great opportunity to take pictures!

Black Sand Beach ATV Tour / 2 Hours

Drive through the coastline, small rivers, and through the black volcanic sand beach to stop to view the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and along the coast to the southernmost part of Iceland, the small peninsula Dyrhólaey. You will have a chance to stop by the deserted US Navy plane. As history suggests, the plane ran out of fuel in 1973 and crashed on the black sand beach. This is a great opportunity to take pictures! From there we continue to the river Jökulsá and up to the foot of the mountain.

South Coast ATV & Glacier Hike / 7 Hours

Take on a full day’s worth of adventure at some of Iceland’s best South Coast locations.

Your first activity is our glacier hiking tour. You will meet your guide at Icelandic Mountain Guides Base Camp. You will meet your certified and expert glacier guide, who will lead you on a 2.5 hour long excursion through the fascinating features of Sólheimajökull glacier. After a safety briefing and a tutorial on how to use your glacier equipment, you will make your way onto the glacier, for a short and safe glacier walk around the deep crevasses, ice formations and tunnels on Sólheimajökull. No prior experience is needed for fantastic glacier adventure.

After you finish your glacier hiking tour, we head back to the base camp where you can take in the surrounding landscape of Sólheimajökull before your next adventure. You will make your own way to the next part of the combo tour, to our Mýrdalsjökull base, on road 222. There you will meet our certified ATV guides who will gear you up and prepare you for the 2 hour ATV experience on the black sands and visit the DC-3 plane wreck.

Drive through the South coast splendid waterfalls by bus and on the ATV quad bike through the black volcanic sand beach. ATV ride will take you through small rivers, picturesque waterfalls, and black sand lava to enjoy the amazing view of Mýrdalsjökull Glacier and Dyrhólaey. Explore the US Navy plane that ran out of the fuel and crashed in 1973 on a black sand beach for amazing photo opportunities!

The tour is suitable for all skill levels and are led by professional and certified glacier guides, with all safety equipment provided.

○ All drivers (drivers only) must have a valid driving license and a minimum age of 17 years. Learner driver’s permit, license for driving a light motorcycle/tractor is not sufficient by Icelandic law.

○ Single riders and groups with odd numbers are required to book a single ride snowmobile.
