In the Far north province of the Kenyan Rift valley, L. Turkana, dubbed as “the cradle of mankind”, is both the origin of cultural, geological and archaeological history. It is also believed that the tectonic plates of America continent, Africa, Europe and Asia overlaps on the floor of this largest desert lake in the world.
This semi-arid region is a host to the; Samburu community, with an abundance of Culture preserved through time and also referred to as “the true nomads”, the great Ol Donyo Nyiru mountains, and Suguta valley with its unexploited natural features; Lake Logipi, Cathedral Rock, and the sand dunes.
DESERT ROSE LODGE, dubbed as “The rose in the Desert”, is engulfed in the ranges of Ol Donyo Nyiru Mountains (the holy mountain of the Samburu community). You will spend two nights at Desert Rose and may be lucky to attend the spiritual Samburu ceremony on the Holy Mountain. This ceremony is out of bounds to outsiders only with an exception to Desert Rose visitors. A whole day excursion around L. Turkana and the surroundings wrapped up with a cultural entertainment fete by Samburu dancers.
On the fourth day, aboard a flight along with unforgettable memories about Desert Rose, you shall traverse through the Kenya skies, with breath taking sceneries of valleys and hills, through the plains of Laikipia, to the epic Masai Mara, home of the “eighth natural wonder” of the world, the great wildebeest migration.

“Instinct of the Mara Camp” shall be our temporal home for all excursions in the Mara. Nestled on the side of a hill, it has a magnificent view over one of the most beautiful sceneries in the world. The Instinct of the Mara camp, a new touch of luxury in the wild, in Olderkesey conservancy, is snuggled up within the lush woodlands of the Mara, hills and two fresh water springs with guaranteed privacy. It borders the famous Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. The Sand river, other meandering rivers and towering escarpments, makes a crucial corridor to the largest concentration of vegetation, birdlife and terrestrial wildlife migration path from Tanzania to Kenya and vice versa.
Three Nights and four days, will offer humble time to sample the Masai people culture, learn about the plants and birdlife through nature walks, game experience in the Conservancy and one full day in the National reserve. Bush meals and bonfires will make some lifetime memories of your Safari in Kenya.
