Sarara camp; both intimate and limitless, is located in the remote Samburu lands of Northern Kenya nestled among the southern foothill of Mathews Mountain range and surrounded by vast stretches of Savanna all within the pristine stretch of the Namunyak wildlife conservancy.

Sarara in Samburu language means, “Meeting Place” because the mountains meet the desert and provides water sources to the indigenous people and the wild animals surrounding the land.

Home to the “singing wells”, a preserved site by Samburu community and a meeting place where they meet to water their livestock. Each family sings to their livestock and the cows recognize their family song and come down to be watered. Well preserved tradition, never been photographed before as it is not allowed, this place is exclusively open to Sarara guests only.

Sarara, is a mixture of Luxury and adventure, as one will be able to experience day and night game drives in Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust that was established to protect elephants. The game drives have helped in sightings of leopards, lesser kudu antelope, African wild dogs, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, gerenuk, impala, and warthogs.

Guided bush walks, hiking in the Mathews range and camel treks led and guided by the Samburu naturalist guides through the thickets to take an up-close and personal look at the vast flora and fauna that surround the camp.
