Shiga HIghlands are perfect for outdoor sport activities ike Snowmobilling. The rides are available for single or tandem ride and for all ages. No driver’s license is required, so it is an easy, exciting activity where you get to enjoy racing through nature. Riding the snow mobile can be done in Shiga Kogen at the foot of Yakebitai Mountain area.

>Shiga Kogen is renowned for its outstanding powder, diverse ski terrain and spectacular panoramas. This vast area comprises 19 interlinked ski resorts and 52 lifts, all of which are covered by one lift pass, providing seemingly endless trails to enjoy Japan’s largest ski resort. Yakebitaiyama is the largest of the 19 resorts, and features the region’s premier terrain park and snowmobile area. Snowmobilling can be offered for both beginners and rather advanced racers.

Beginners get a short lesson before hitting the trails, and rather than just sticking on the trails, even beginners can have a play off-piste in the powder. This snowmobiling is not lame for experienced riders either, as they can head up and down the slopes of a private ski area. If you don’t feel like driving is your thing, then perhaps being pulled along behind one of these machines is more for you.

Snow Rafting is also a very popular and exciting adventure that is available. Hold onto your hats as you get pulled around a custom made track with banks and jumps in an inflatable raft at a cost of 35 EUR per person.
